I met Jay at a recording session at Loud Sound Ridge. Since that first session I’ve been his first call bassist for the studio and live shows. I tracked the bass for Jay’s singles “Feel Good Music“, and “The Next Life.” In November 2015, Jay Basiner moved to Nashville and launched a solo project under the name Jay Bragg – taking a last name that fuses his two biggest musical heroes together, Bruce Springsteen and Merle Haggard.

In my time with LSR I’ve been very fortunate to have recorded bass tracks for co-founder Paul Newton and Nashville recording artists Justin Harris and Jay Bragg. Head Producer/Co-Founder Paul Newton and Engineer/Co-Founder Jayme Tardiff have taught me a great deal about the art of recording music. My level of musicianship has increased due to my experience at LSR.

McKenzies Mill are long time friends. Over the years I was the player they called when they needed a fill-in bass player. The stars finally lined up and I joined up full time in 2014. I’ve had the pleasure to work with the band on the road and in the studio. I was the session bassist for their 2015 EP produced at New Voice Entertainment.
July, 2013 – November, 2014
I filled in for Derek’s bassist one night in 2012. About a year later Derek needed to find a permanent player and I was his first call. I have the pleasure of sharing the stage with Derek all throughout the Tunica Casino circuit and Memphis club venues. Derek’s show schedule has lightened up over the years yet I’m still his first call when he needs a professional bassist.

Co-Founder Rachel Harris contacted me via email about an open position in her new band. We hit it off on the first audition. We moved on to play some great functions, festivals, weddings, casinos and clubs. Rachel accepted a career opportunity in Florida and the band disbanded.
March, 2011 – October, 2011
Mudflap King was the first band that I joined when I first moved to Memphis, TN. For my audition I went to a show and sat in during their live performance. We started rehearsals a week later and played all of the top clubs throughout Memphis.
January, 2006 – January, 2011
I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to audition for Danica only 3 months after moving to Nashville from Maine. This meeting began a solid 5 year run of heavy touring throughout the national casino circuit, averaging 40+ weeks/year in travel. This job allowed me to truly learn the art of playing all genres of music. We entertained with rock, pop, funk, disco, country, jazz and blues.
2000 – 2005
I started playing guitar in 1991 but it wasn’t until the year 2000 that I started treating it like a business. I played in as many bands as possible in my home state Maine and worked hard at mastering my craft. I played many clubs and weddings in such bands as Four Men & Their Pieces, Mirave, Under The Covers, and Prog Rock Cinema. In 2005 I moved to Nashville, TN in pursuit to chase my goals of being a full time musician.
